A smart approach: use financing as a temporary solution
Sometimes money is expected but not yet available: QPP death benefit, insurance benefit, estate funds.
Rather than waiting, you can take care of the funeral now through financing, then repay part or all of the balance as these amounts become available to you, according to the terms of your loan.
The QPP death benefit can be up to $2,500 for an eligible person. Eligibility and the amount are determined by Retraite Québec.
